Filled & Led Mentoring Program Guide
We are so glad you have jumped into this! We are inviting you into a form of a practice called Lectio Divina — which means “divine reading” — this was first established by Christians in the 6th century, and it has been used by Christians ever since. This practice of reading Scripture meditatively (slowly & thoughtfully) as you listen to the passage for a particular word or phrase the Holy Spirit is highlighting to you in that moment. Over the course of this partnership, we are inviting you to do this both individually and communally. Our hope is that this practice will enable you to dwell with God and to learn a way of reading Scripture that you can apply with any engagement with the Bible.

3) Discernment (to test, determine, Distinguish between spirits):
One of the questions that may come up for you is how to do you know if the word, phrase or nudge you experience/hear/sense is from God. Author Pete Grieg amongst other authors have attempted to lay out a model for how to test it that we thought might be helpful, it is called the ABC’s of Discernment:
Affirming: Is it encouraging or edifying to the church?
Biblical: Is it consistent with the overarching trajectory of Scripture?
Christlike: Is it consistent with the character, mission, teaching & posture of Jesus?
