Behind Enemy Lies

P1: Weeping Is Wasted

This week, we jumped into part 1 of a new series about the unseen battle where truth is twisted just enough to deceive and entrap. Yet in the confusion, God speaks light and truth. In part 1, we combated the lie that our weeping is wasted by recognizing the truth of God's past faithfulness, his redeeming waters of life in present anxiety & the tears of redemption for future joy.

P2: Hiding Is Helping

This week in part 2 of our “Behind Enemy Lies” series, we explored the lie that hiding is helping. Looking at Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, we talked about vulnerability, community, burden-bearing, and the temptation to pretend we’re “fine” even when we’re not.

Jesus didn’t hide His anguish from those closest to Him…and maybe we weren’t meant to carry life’s heaviest things alone either.

P3: Trusting Is Trivial

This week’s lie is that trusting God is trivial. In Psalm 73, Asaph shares his struggle to understand how remaining faithful has benefited him when the world around him seems to prosper despite its ungodliness. But everything changes when Asaph enters the sanctuary of God’s presence and finds renewed relief, perspective, and hope of rescue.

P4: Worth is Worthless

The pattern of this world is not God’s pattern for us. This week in our series Behind Enemy Lies we unraveled the lie that our worth is worthless. That we are not enough. Jesus says otherwise. God has called us to our true identity as worthy servants seat with Christ in heaven.

P5: Conviction is Condemnation

This week we looked at the lie that conviction is condemnation, and combatted it with the truth that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
