The People of Jesus (Part 2): People of Grace

TO START: In our summer series, The People of Jesus, we’re walking through the letter of 1 Peter. This portion of Scripture offers deep assurance to the people of Jesus—especially when our faith initiates challenges, tension, or unforeseen opportunities.

This week’s message focused on the assurance we have as people of grace. Over the course of the rest of the series, we will have trimmed down discussion guides in light of being summer as many groups are taking breaks but we wanted to provide a frame for discussion for those of y’all still meeting!

TO READ: 1 Peter 1:10-17

TO DISCUSS:

(1.) We talked about God’s grace as both common grace (God’s goodness in everyday life) and special grace (freedom from sin); where have you seen both in your life?

(2.) In the New Testament, responding to a gift conveyed how much it mattered and the giver mattered; in what areas of your life can you respond to God’s grace as a way of saying “thank you”?

TO PRAY

To close small group, we invite you to spend praying for God’s grace to be remembered and rooted in us so that we can in turn be a people who move in light of the grace God has given us and we can give grace to others in ways that seem impossible.
